Obama: Marriage, Mothers and Fathers Not Important
No Government Interest in Traditional Family
WASHINGTON, DC, August 17, 2009 -- Today, President Barak Obama announced his intention to repeal the federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA). Last fall candidate Obama said he believed marriage is between a man and a woman. Now he says it is discriminatory to have that stated in law, despite the fact that his lawyers are arguing in court that DOMA is, in fact, constitutional. This sounds contradictory and it is.
